Description

A module with a 9-axis IMU BNO055 sensor, which combines an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a magnetometer and a processing system with the ARM Cortex-M0 core. It has built-in sensor fusion algorithms that combine measurements and generate output with 3D orientation in the form of quaternions, Euler angles or vectors. The module allows you to avoid the implementation of extensive algorithms necessary to obtain orientation in space and easily add such functionality to the project. BNO055 allows you to read information such as:

  • Absolute orientation (Euler angles, 100 Hz) - data on the orientation of the three axes based on a 360° sphere
  • Absolute orientation (quaternions, 100 Hz) - data in the form of quaternions
  • Angular velocity vector (100 Hz) - rotational speed information in rad/s
  • Acceleration vector (10 0Hz) - acceleration information (gravity+linear motion) in m/s^2
  • Magnetic field strength vector (20 Hz) - information about the magnetic field strength (uT)
  • Vector of linear acceleration (10 0Hz) - information about linear acceleration on three axes (acceleration minus gravity) in m/s^2
  • Gravity Vector (100 Hz) - information about the gravitational acceleration (minus any movement) in m/s^2
  • Temperature (1 Hz) - ambient temperature in degrees Celsius

The module can work with systems with a working voltage of 3.3 V or 5 V, and communication is via the I2C interface (STEMMA QT connector). Full documentation with examples is available on the product page.
