A tool for programming and debugging applications for systems with the ARM Cortex-M and ARM Cortex-A core. It uses an embedded GDB server that is emulated via USB. Adafruit 3839
Black Magic Probe is an application programming and debug tool for ARM Cortex-M and ARM Cortex-A core systems. It is able to control and query the state of the target device using the JTAG or Serial Wire Debugging (SWD) port and debugging logic provided by the microprocessor. The probe connects to the host computer via a standard USB interface. The user is able to accurately control what is happening by using GNU, GDB source level debugging software. Unlike most dongles, the user does not need to use OpenOCD or STLink. Instead, the BMP is a GDB server port, emulated by the USB serial connection. In addition, the module has a built-in USB-UART converter, which enables simultaneous debugging and information transfer via one USB port. Black Magic Probe can work with most popular development environments and is supported by Linux, Mac and Windows systems. Full documentation is available on the product page.
