Teensy 4.0 is a friendly development board that provides a wealth of features in a compact size. With this board you can develop your projects in an intuitive and efficient way. Programming Teensy is convenient because you can use your favourite C language program editor. You can also install the Teensyduino add-on for the Arduino IDE.
One of the most important strengths of Teensy 4.0 is its performance and ability to handle more advanced projects. It features a 600 MHz ARM Cortex-M7 MCU core processor and a large amount of memory. Despite its impressive performance, the size of the Teensy 4.0 is very compact (identical to the Teensy 3.2). The NXP iMXRT1062 microcontroller with ARM Cortex-M7 used introduces many features useful for real-time applications. Thanks to double scaling, it can execute as many as two instructions per clock cycle, which speeds up performance. Also important is Tight Coupled Memory, which enables fast memory accesses in a single cycle using an efficient 64-bit bus pair. In addition, the processor has a built-in Floating Point Unit (FPU) that supports both 64-bit 'double' and 32-bit 'float', which translates into even greater computing capabilities.
When operating at 600 MHz, the Teensy 4.0 consumes only about 100 mA of current, making it energy efficient. In addition, by connecting a lozenge battery to the VBAT, the Teensy 4.0's real-time clock (RTC) chip continues to track the date and time even when the main power supply is off. The Teensy 4.0 is a unique development board that provides advanced capabilities in a compact size. With its high performance, rich functionality and energy-efficient operation, it is the ideal choice for electronics professionals and enthusiasts.
