Description

The XBee RR 802.15.4 RF module is an embedded solution providing wireless connectivity compliant with the IEEE 802.15.4 network protocol. It ensures fast point-to-multipoint or peer-to-peer communication, ideal for applications requiring high throughput, low latency, and predictable communication timing. The XBee RR 802.15.4 RF is an excellent choice for low-cost, energy-efficient wireless sensor networks, offering reliable data transmission between devices. The modules operate in the 2.4 GHz ISM band and enable local configuration via BLE using the Digi XBee mobile app. They are equipped with the Silicon Labs EFR32MG SoC transceiver chipset and feature 1 MB flash memory and 96 kB RAM. They offer RF data rates up to 250 Kbps and serial data rates up to 1 Mbps. The range is up to 60 m indoors and up to 1200 m in open space. The modules can communicate with the main board via UART or SPI interfaces.

XBee RR modules are functionally equivalent to XBee3 but do not offer MicroPython or full BLE programmable services available in XBee3.
