Big Motor Encoder Module is a high-power brushed motor driver module designed specifically for use with the Pimoroni Yukon system. It allows control of a single DC motor with an encoder, delivering up to 8 A continuous current and 12 A peak current, making it ideal for power-hungry projects. By using the DRV8706H intelligent gate driver together with external H-bridge MOSFETs, the module provides high efficiency and reliable operation over a wide supply voltage range from 5 to 17 V. Despite its compact size, it is capable of delivering surprisingly high power.

The module is intended for robotics projects such as remote-controlled vehicles and mobile robots. A dedicated footprint for an encoder connector enables precise feedback of motor position and speed.
