Dual-channel brushless motor controller designed for systems requiring FOC-based position, speed, or torque control. The High Power version features a large aluminum heatsink for improved heat dissipation from the power stage. The controller uses an STM32F405RGT6 microcontroller, supports an operating current of up to 60 A and a peak current of up to 120 A, and provides USB, UART, and CAN communication. Makerbase ODrive V3.6 High Power Version
The controller enables independent control of two 3-phase BLDC motors using FOC (Field Oriented Control). Position, speed, and torque control makes the board suitable for robotic drives, AGV platforms, automation systems, servo drives, and development of custom motion control systems. The design uses a 32-bit STM32F405RGT6 microcontroller, while the Makerbase specification specifies an operating current of up to 60 A and a peak current of up to 120 A.

The High Power Version features a large aluminum heatsink covering the power stage, improving heat dissipation under higher loads. The board provides separate screw terminals for the M0 and M1 motors, a power input, and a connection for a braking resistor. The controller also supports regenerative braking, allowing energy to be returned to the battery during deceleration. The diagram on the left shows how to connect the power supply, M0 and M1 motors, braking resistor, and encoder to the controller. The three-phase motor outputs use the A, B, and C terminals, while the encoder wires connect to the corresponding signal pins for the M0 or M1 channel. Separate AUX terminals are provided for connecting the braking resistor.
The controller provides USB, UART, CAN, PWM, and STEP/DIR interfaces, allowing integration with computers, microcontrollers, and higher-level control systems. Encoder connectors enable closed-loop position and speed control; supported encoders include TLE5012B, AS5047, AMT10, and compatible models. Software and hardware resources for the Makerbase ODrive platform are available in the manufacturer's repository.
