Waveshare PCIe TO M.2 USB HAT+ is an expansion HAT designed for Raspberry Pi 5 that enables simultaneous connection of an M.2 NVMe SSD and expansion of USB ports. The module uses the 16-pin PCIe interface of Raspberry Pi 5 together with an FFC cable, providing a high-speed connection to the system PCIe bus.

The adapter supports M.2 NVMe SSD drives in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors and operates using the PCIe Gen2 standard. The solution also supports booting Raspberry Pi 5 directly from the SSD, providing significantly higher read and write speeds compared to microSD cards.

The board also integrates four USB 3.2 Gen1 ports for connecting additional high-speed peripherals. An onboard power monitoring chip and EEPROM help ensure stable operation. LED indicators provide information about power and system activity.
