Waveshare PCIe TO 2-CH SATA HAT+
PCIe TO 2-CH SATA HAT+ is an expansion card that allows you to connect two SATA hard drives to a Raspberry Pi 5 without the need to install drivers. The device is fully compliant with the HAT+ standard, ensuring automatic hardware detection and configuration by the Raspberry Pi OS system. The adapter connects to the Raspberry Pi 5 via a 16-pin PCIe interface, offering two SATA 3.0 (6 Gb/s) ports compatible with PCIe Gen2 and SATA Gen3 standards.

The module supports both 2.5” and 3.5” drives, with power supply options for 5V and 12V, making it ideal for server, NAS, data storage, and IoT applications. Thanks to the built-in EEPROM chip, the adapter stores HAT+ identification data and product information, allowing for automatic configuration loading. The board also features two LED indicators that signal operational status, making it easy to monitor drive activity. The device supports Native Command Queuing (NCQ) and the AHCI 1.2 specification, ensuring high data transfer performance and low latency. It supports power-saving modes L0s / L1 and SATA partial/sleep power management features. The adapter does not require additional power if the connected drives do not use a 12V supply. When used with the latest version of Raspberry Pi OS, the module operates in plug-and-play mode without driver installation. The entire design follows the new HAT+ standard, ensuring perfect fit and full compatibility with Raspberry Pi 5 boards.
