Description
Pololu 5278 Large Carrier current sensor based on the ACS72981KLRATR-150B5 chip, designed for measuring DC and AC current from -150 A to +150 A with a nominal 5 V supply voltage. Measurement is performed using the Hall effect in an electrically isolated low-resistance current path of approximately 0.2 mΩ, reducing power losses and minimizing the sensor’s impact on the measured circuit.
The measurement signal is available as an analog voltage proportional to current, with a zero-current output voltage of approximately 2.5 V. The module offers bandwidth up to 250 kHz and response time below 2 µs, enabling monitoring of fast current changes in power electronics systems.
The 6-layer PCB improves heat dissipation and operating stability at high currents. The chip includes integrated temperature compensation, improving measurement accuracy over a wide temperature range. The module is intended for applications below 30 V.
