Description
3D depth camera utilizing Intel® RealSense™ technology designed for precise close-range measurements in robotics, industrial automation, machine vision systems and AI applications. The D405 operates within a range of 7 cm to 50 cm and enables measurement of small objects as well as defect detection with accuracy below 0.1 mm. The stereoscopic depth sensing system combined with Global Shutter image sensors allows distortion-free capture of fast-moving objects.
Development Environment and Compatibility
The Intel® RealSense™ D405 platform is compatible with Intel® RealSense™ SDK 2.0 and supports Windows, Linux, Android and macOS operating systems. Available libraries for Python, ROS, C/C++ and C# enable integration with robotic systems, image analysis applications, artificial intelligence and industrial 3D processing solutions. The manufacturer also provides example projects and SDK 2.0 tools for developing custom applications based on depth and 3D image data. The package includes the Intel® RealSense™ D405 camera, USB 3.0 USB-C cable and mini tripod for quick setup and testing of depth sensing applications.
The device generates synchronized RGB and depth data using an integrated ISP processor without a dedicated RGB sensor, eliminating parallax errors between color and depth images. The camera supports depth resolution up to 1280 × 720 px at 90 fps and RGB output up to 1280 × 720 px at 30 fps. The compact enclosure allows integration with robotic arms, grippers, embedded systems and industrial inspection stations.
