ACS37220 Current Sensor +/-100A 5V Pololu 5297

Description

Large Carrier version current sensor from Pololu, model 5297, based on the ACS37220LEZATR-100B5, designed for measuring AC and DC current in the range from -100 A to +100 A at a nominal supply voltage of 5 V. Measurement is performed using the Hall effect in an isolated current path with very low resistance of approximately 0.1 mΩ, which minimizes power losses and reduces the impact of the sensor on the measured circuit.

The output signal is provided as an analog voltage proportional to the current, with a quiescent voltage level of approx. 2.5 V. The module offers bandwidth up to 150 kHz and response time below 4 µs, enabling monitoring of fast current changes in power electronics systems.

The sensor includes a FAULT output with configurable overcurrent threshold via the VOC pin, allowing fast detection of overloads and short circuits. The 6-layer PCB improves heat dissipation and stability during high-current operation. Additionally, integrated temperature compensation enhances measurement accuracy over a wide temperature range.
