ACS37042 Micro Carrier is a compact module based on the Allegro current sensor, utilizing Hall effect technology and providing galvanic isolation for current measurement. The device features an extremely low current path resistance, minimizing power losses and ensuring high accuracy for both DC and AC current measurement. The analog output offers a wide 150 kHz bandwidth, enabling fast and precise current monitoring in dynamic systems. The sensor response time is less than 5 µs, making it ideal for applications that require quick feedback.

The module provides five essential connections: current inputs IP+ and IP-, power supply pins VDD and GND, and the signal output VOUT. The supply voltage should be connected to the VDD and GND pads marked on the back of the PCB. At the VOUT pin, the sensor outputs an analog signal with a baseline of 1.65 V, which shifts proportionally to the current flow. Positive current increases the output voltage, while negative current decreases it.
The board can be connected in the current path in multiple ways, depending on the application. In high-current scenarios, it is possible to solder 10 AWG wires directly to the mounting holes. These holes are also compatible with M3.5 mounting holes and screw terminals with a pitch of 3.5 mm or 5 mm, allowing for flexible installation in both prototypes and production systems. Alternatively, goldpin headers may be used, but they are not recommended for high-current use.

The sensor features integrated temperature compensation, ensuring high accuracy across the entire operating temperature range from -40°C to 125°C, in compliance with automotive standards. The design is non-ratiometric, meaning the zero point and sensitivity are unaffected by power supply variations, ensuring stability and noise immunity. Thanks to its small size, this module is perfect for space-constrained applications.
