A compact Hall-effect current sensor that provides accurate DC and AC current measurement within a ±30 A range with galvanic isolation. It features an analog VOUT output with a sensitivity of 44 mV/A and a 150 kHz bandwidth, enabling fast and precise readings in dynamic systems. The module operates over a wide temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, and the low current path resistance (~1.6 mΩ) minimizes energy loss. Its small size and flexible mounting options make it ideal for prototyping, industrial systems, and space-constrained projects. Pololu 5441
ACS37041 Micro Carrier is a compact module based on the Allegro ACS37041KLHBLT-030B3 current sensor, using Hall effect technology and providing galvanic isolation for measurements. The device features a very low current path resistance of ~1.6 mΩ, minimizing energy loss and ensuring high accuracy for both DC and AC current measurements. The analog output offers a wide 150 kHz bandwidth, allowing fast and precise current measurement in dynamic circuits. The sensor response time is less than 5 µs, making it ideal for applications requiring rapid response.
The module has five essential pins: current inputs IP+ and IP-, logic supply VDD and GND, and signal output VOUT. Power should be connected to the VDD and GND pads marked on the bottom of the board. The VOUT output generates an analog signal with a resting voltage of 1.65 V, which changes proportionally to the input current. Positive current increases the output voltage, while negative current decreases it, with a sensitivity of 44 mV/A.
The board can be integrated into the current path in various ways depending on the application. In typical high-current applications, wires can be soldered directly to the mounting holes. These holes are also compatible with screw terminals with 3.5 mm or 5 mm spacing, simplifying module installation in prototype and final setups. Alternatively, goldpin connectors can be used.
The sensor offers integrated temperature compensation, increasing accuracy across the full operating range of -40°C to 125°C, according to automotive standards. The device is non-ratiometric, meaning its zero point and sensitivity are independent of supply voltage fluctuations, ensuring noise immunity. The module operates at 3.0 V to 3.6 V and supports a bidirectional measurement range of -30 A to +30 A. Its compact size makes it suitable for compact projects.
