DS100R - RS232 Ethernet 10BaseT converter module

DS100 is a device server with serial serial interface (SDS), which as an external converter enables the connection of any device equipped with serial interface to Ethernet (TCP / IP). The converter has a compact, aesthetic housing. The converter is connected to the RS232 serial interface by means of the DB9M plug.




The EM100 module was used for the converter construction.

Characteristics of the DS100 module:

  • Aesthetic housing with small dimensions 89x51x30mm,
  • Power supply: 12 VDC @ approx. 80
  • Ethernet 10BaseT port,
  • RS232 serial port: RX, TX, RTS, CTS,
  • RTS and CTS lines can be used as remotely controlled I / O lines,
  • Status information is displayed by means of 4 LEDs,
  • Two internal transmission buffers of 510 bytes,
  • Built-in EEPROM configuration memory,
  • Support for network protocols, including UDP, TCP, ARP, ICMP (PING) and DHCP,
  • The configuration of the converter can be done either via the serial port or through the network (using the IP address),
  • A set of commands controlling the serial port, network connection, remote status monitoring, etc.,
  • Firmware upgrade via serial port or via network,
  • Supplied with the Device Server Toolkit (DST) for Windows software and with the Virtual Serial Port Driver (VSPD) (program that redirects the COM port),
  • A version of VSPD for Linux is available ,
  • Operated by TIBBO.NET (program integrating the distributed system in the network),
  • CE and FCC certification.
