Description
Original Prusa MMU3 Lite - Full Kit is an expansion for the Prusa CORE One+ printer enabling multi-color and multi-material printing with a single nozzle. The system allows up to five filaments to be loaded simultaneously and automatically switched during a single print, without manual user intervention.
The module is optimized for speed, efficiency and waste reduction. A filament change typically takes 35-45 s, which significantly reduces total print time in projects requiring numerous tool changes. Excess material generated during color transitions is directed into a compact purge tower placed at the edge of the print bed.
The Lite version is mounted on top of the printer after removing the upper panel. This solution simplifies and speeds up installation, however the printer no longer remains fully enclosed. The Lite variant is a practical option when transferring the MMU3 module between printers, for example between MK4S and CORE One+.
The filament feeding system uses a buffer unit and an optimized material path leading to the module mounted on top of the printer and then to the extruder. Bidirectional firmware communication with the printer enables automatic diagnostics, error reporting on the LCD screen and control via the printer menu or the module buttons.
MMU3 is fully compatible with PrusaSlicer and EasyPrint software. The software enables assigning colors to individual parts of a model, using purge-to-infill or purge-to-object functions and optimizing material consumption. The interlocking feature improves bonding between colors and materials, increasing joint strength. For maximum efficiency and reduced waste, the use of a standard nozzle instead of a high-flow version is recommended.
