Description
Adafruit module with product ID 6455 features the SGP41 sensor designed for indoor air quality monitoring by measuring volatile organic compounds (VOC) and nitrogen oxides (NOx). The MOX-based system integrates two sensing elements and a control unit, enabling direct digital readout via I2C without handling analog signals or heater control.
The sensor provides VOC and NOx index values in a range from 1 to 500 using the Sensirion Gas Index algorithm, allowing air quality analysis and environmental trend monitoring. Measurement accuracy can be improved by applying temperature and humidity compensation using data from an external sensor.
The module is mounted on a breakout board with pin headers and STEMMA QT connectors compatible with the Qwiic ecosystem, enabling quick solderless connection to development boards. An onboard 3,3 V voltage regulator and level shifting circuitry allow operation with both 3,3 V and 5 V systems.
