

Module with an analog MQ4 methane sensor. Methane (CH4) is a gas that is colorless and odorless. The mixture of methane and air in a volume concentration of 4.5–15% is explosive. The formation of this mixture as a result of methane entering closed rooms (e.g. in hard coal mines) may cause an explosion. Due to its properties, methane is difficult to detect without a specialized device. Using the module with the MQ4 sensor, it is possible to build a detector that will detect CH4 in our environment. The module is powered with 5 V and has an analog output (Gravity connector) proportional to the measured concentration. The sensor is characterized by high sensitivity adjustable with a potentiometer and can measure the concentration of methane in the range from 200 to 10,000 ppm.
