The Gravity: C4001 presence sensor is a modern device utilizing 24 GHz millimeter-wave radar technology. It offers a horizontal detection angle of 100°, with presence detection range of up to 8 meters and motion detection and distance measurement up to 12 meters. By employing FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) modulation, the sensor accurately detects both distance and speed of moving objects.
Unlike traditional infrared sensors, the C4001 can effectively detect both static and moving objects regardless of environmental conditions such as light, temperature, dust, or noise. It is ideal for applications requiring reliable human presence detection such as smart lighting, building automation, and security systems.
The device is compatible with popular development platforms like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, and ESP8266, and communicates via I2C or UART interfaces. Thanks to the Gravity (PH2.0) connector, integration is fast and convenient. The sensor can be installed in various orientations—horizontal, ceiling-mounted, or at an angle—allowing flexible deployment.
