The Crowtail Hall Sensor 2.0 is designed for detecting the presence of a magnetic field in electronic projects, control systems, and educational applications. The module uses the Allegro A1101 Hall-effect sensor, which belongs to a new generation of unipolar Hall switches and serves as a replacement for the popular Allegro 312x and 314x series.
The operating principle is based on the Hall effect, where a voltage difference is generated across a conductor carrying an electric current when exposed to a magnetic field perpendicular to the current flow. The sensor provides a digital output that switches to a low state when a south-polarity magnetic field perpendicular to the sensor exceeds the BOP threshold. When the magnetic field disappears, the output returns to a high state.
The module is equipped with a Crowtail connector in Type D connection mode, enabling quick connection to Crowtail base boards without soldering. Compact dimensions facilitate integration into position sensors, rotation counters, proximity detection systems, and magnet-based safety applications.
