Description

The Adafruit BQ25185 USB/DC/Solar Charger is a complete power solution for your 3.3V-based electronic projects. It combines the multi-function BQ25185 charging IC with a high-efficiency TPS62569 buck converter, delivering stable and safe power from a battery, USB port, DC power supply, or solar panel. This allows you to easily power your devices regardless of the available energy source. The board supports charging of various battery types (LiIon, LiPoly) with a default current of 1 A (switchable to 500 mA). The buck converter provides a stable 3.3V output with up to 1 A current, sufficient for most microcontrollers and sensors. Additionally, a Power Path output is available, providing up to 4.5V depending on the input source.

With solar panel support, the system optimizes current draw, offering near-MPPT efficiency without the need for complex circuitry. The board also features status LEDs for charging, fault, and 3.3V power presence, along with an EN pad to disable the buck converter. All this makes the board an excellent choice for mobile IoT projects powered by renewable energy or traditional USB sources.
