A module for building a weather station equipped with a controller based on Raspberry Pi Pico W. It is equipped with a pressure, humidity, temperature and light sensor. The set is controlled by the RP2040 microcontroller board equipped with two ARM Cortex-M0 + cores operating at 133 MHz, 264 KB RAM and 2 MB of external QSPI flash memory. In addition, the board is equipped with the Infineon CYW43439 system, extending the board with wireless connectivity.
The module is based on the BME280 sensor, which allows you to read the atmospheric pressure in the range from 300 to 1100 hPa with an accuracy of ±1 hPa, temperature in the range from -40 to 85 ℃ with an accuracy of ± 1°C and humidity with an accuracy of ± 3%. On the board, the user will also find the LTR-559 light sensor, which allows you to read the illumination intensity from 0.01 to 64,000 lux and detect objects in a short distance (up to 5 cm). In addition, the HAT allows the connection of rain and wind sensors thanks to the added RJ11 connectors and other sensors via the Qwiic/Stemma QT connector.
The device is designed to work well on battery power. The Enviro board has a built-in RTC (real time clock) so you can periodically wake the microcontroller from sleep mode, read (and optionally connect to Wi-Fi), and then sleep again, giving you months of unlimited battery life. The set is dedicated to projects of weather stations. Examples of use along with the instruction manual are available on the project website.
