Adafruit BMP581 is an advanced barometric pressure and temperature sensor, representing the latest generation of Bosch BMP58x series sensors. This high-precision module is ideal as a precise altimeter or for environmental monitoring systems. Its low noise level allows detection of altitude changes from approximately 1 cm (0.08 Pa). The BMP581 supports both I2C and SPI interfaces, enabling easy integration with various microcontrollers and electronic projects.
The sensor offers remarkable relative pressure accuracy of ±0.4 Pa within the 900–1100 hPa pressure range at 25°C, corresponding to roughly ±3.3 cm in altitude. Typical absolute accuracy is ±30 Pa (~2.5 m). It can also measure temperature with an accuracy of ±0.5°C. The BMP581 is fully software-compatible with the BMP580 but provides higher precision and reliability, making it ideal where accurate data is critical. The module is mounted on a ready-to-use PCB with a 3.3 V voltage regulator and logic level conversion, allowing use with both 3 V and 5 V microcontrollers. STEMMA QT connectors enable quick connections and daisy-chaining with other Qwiic-compatible modules. The BMP581 is well-suited for drones, flight stabilization systems, wearables, IoT projects, and anywhere precise altitude and temperature measurement is needed with easy integration.
