Antenna splitter that allows one GNSS antenna to be connected to two devices, such as the NEO-D9S correction data receiver and another GNSS module. The module, based on the BP2G1+ from Mini-Circuits, evenly splits the signal from the antenna port between two outputs, providing power to the active antenna and optionally switchable power supply. SparkFun SPX-21223
The GNSS Splitter is an antenna splitter that allows a single GNSS antenna to be connected to two devices or modules. It evenly distributes the antenna signal from port S between ports 1 and 2, making it an ideal addition to the NEO-D9S correction data receiver. This setup enables both the NEO-D9S and a separate GNSS module to share one antenna. The splitter is based on the BP2G1+ chip by Mini-Circuits, a 50Ω DC Pass bidirectional signal splitter that operates in the L-band, covering a frequency range of 1200 to 2000 MHz.
The ports are fitted with robust SMA connectors. By default, the splitter passes DC power from port 1 to the antenna (port S), allowing for the use of an active antenna. Power routing is easily customizable: by opening Jumper 1 and closing Jumper 2, power can be routed from port 2, and the antenna can also be powered via the Qwiic connector or VCC and GND pins. The module can also work as a passive splitter without the need for power.
The module features a 10Ω current-limiting resistor to protect against short circuits in the antenna cable. If the antenna requires more than 30mA, Jumper Ilim can be closed to bypass the resistor and provide more power. This makes the GNSS Splitter a versatile solution for flexible antenna connections in a variety of projects.
