Description
The Adafruit Pixel Shifter is a simple and cost-effective solution designed to make working with NeoPixels and other addressable LED strips easier. NeoPixel-compatible LEDs require precise voltage levels to function correctly, and many 3.3V logic devices, such as the RP2040, ESP32/ESP8266, STM32, SAMD, Raspberry Pi, and others, may encounter issues with this. The Pixel Shifter solves this problem by easily shifting the signal from 3.3V to the required 5V logic level, ensuring smooth operation of your LED setups without the need for complex circuitry or breadboards.
This compact device contains a small 5V voltage generator, two signal converters, and an inverter, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of LED strips. It is designed to be easily connected without soldering; simply provide 3-5V power (a few milliamps), and the device automatically converts the signals to the appropriate voltage levels, making it an ideal solution for your LED projects.
The Adafruit Pixel Shifter supports up to two signal lines and has an inverted signal output, ensuring compatibility with different types of LEDs. It supports signal frequencies up to 10 MHz, fully compatible with the 800KHz signal frequency required by most NeoPixels and similar LED strips. Additionally, the device is equipped with 2.54 mm terminal block connectors, making wiring easier and supporting wire thickness from 18AWG to 26AWG.
