Description

Original Prusa XL is the most advanced and innovative 3D printer in the Prusa Research lineup, designed as a next-generation large-format, multi-material desktop device. The 2025 XL model features a unique, ultra-fast tool changer, enabling operation with up to five toolheads. The offered configuration includes two toolheads, enabling automatic dual-material printing and the use of dedicated support materials without manual filament changes. The design still allows future expansion with additional toolheads, extending the printer’s capabilities toward advanced multi-material printing. This allows the printer to create complex multi-material prints without filament waste and without the need for purge towers. As a result, the XL significantly reduces operating costs and shortens project lead times.

The Critical Infrastructure Edition uses a specially prepared mainboard with physically removed circuits responsible for Wi-Fi and wireless communication functions. The solution eliminates potential attack vectors related to network connectivity and enables operation in completely isolated offline environments. The printer is supplied with an encrypted 30 GB USB drive designed for secure transfer of G-code files and project data. The design ensures full control over data flow in environments requiring the highest level of security.

The massive 360 × 360 × 360 mm build volume makes it possible to produce even very large and demanding models. The segmented heated bed with individually controlled tiles ensures excellent adhesion and print stability across the entire surface. The printer delivers outstanding dimensional accuracy, enabling the production of parts that fit together perfectly.

Thanks to Input Shaper and Pressure Advance technologies, the XL combines extreme speed with excellent print quality. The machine supports a wide range of technical filaments, including flexible and carbon fiber–reinforced materials. Automatic calibration and a consistently perfect first layer make printing simple and predictable. The Critical Infrastructure Edition has been designed for completely offline operation without Wi-Fi modules or wireless communication circuits. Data transfer is performed exclusively using the encrypted USB drive, ensuring full control over the circulation of project data and technical documentation. The solution is suitable for environments requiring maximum security and complete network isolation. Original Prusa XL sets a new standard in multi-material printing and has no direct competition in its class.
