CAN communication module with an MCP2518FD controller and ATA6563 transceiver, designed for connecting microcontrollers to CAN buses used in automotive, automation, and industrial systems. It supports CAN 2.0B and CAN FD, an SPI interface, data rates up to 8 Mbps, and a 120 Ω termination resistor enabled via a jumper. Soldered 333020
The MCP2518FD controller supports CAN 2.0B and CAN FD standards, providing arbitration bit rates up to 1 Mbps and CAN FD data rates up to 8 Mbps. Communication with the microcontroller is handled via SPI, allowing operation with Arduino, ESP32, and other platforms equipped with a compatible interface. The ATA6563 transceiver provides the physical interface to the CAN bus.
The integrated 120 Ω termination resistor can be enabled using a jumper, allowing the module to operate, among other applications, as an end node on a CAN bus. Screw terminals provide a secure connection for CAN wiring, while pins with a 2.54 mm pitch enable installation on a breadboard. The module can be used to build diagnostic interfaces, industrial monitoring systems, and devices communicating via CAN and CAN FD.
