BME690 is an advanced environmental sensor from Bosch that enables precise measurement of temperature, pressure, humidity, and air quality thanks to its gas scanner function enhanced by artificial intelligence. Compared to its predecessor (BME688), the BME690 offers lower power consumption and improved moisture resistance. The sensor responds to volatile organic compounds (VOCs), sulfur compounds (VSCs), carbon monoxide, and hydrogen, enabling a comprehensive evaluation of air quality indoors and outdoors. With integration into Bosch’s software ecosystem, gas data can be further analyzed and used to train algorithms to detect specific pollutants or potential biological threats.
