Description
Current sensor in the Large Carrier version Pololu 5283 based on the Allegro ACS72981ELRATR-200U3 chip, designed for unidirectional AC and DC current measurement from 0 A to 200 A. The sensor operates from a supply voltage of 3.0 V to 3.6 V, with a nominal voltage of 3.3 V, and uses Hall-effect sensing with an electrically isolated current path.
The module provides an analog output voltage proportional to the measured current. At a supply voltage of 3.3 V, the sensitivity is 13.2 mV/A and the output zero point is 0.33 V. The low-resistance current path, typically around 0.2 mΩ, minimizes power losses and heat generation when measuring high currents.
The sensor features a bandwidth of 250 kHz and a response time below 2 µs, making it suitable for applications requiring fast current monitoring. The Large Carrier board uses a 6-layer PCB with 2 oz copper to improve heat dissipation. VCC, GND, and VIOUT pins with a 2.54 mm pitch allow convenient connection to microcontrollers, breadboards, and signal wiring.
