This module provides precise, galvanically isolated current measurement within a range of ±30 A and voltage up to 480 VRMS, providing RMS, instantaneous, and active, reactive, and apparent power readings. Equipped with an I²C interface, 4-pin JST SH connectors, and 2.54 mm pins, it allows for easy integration with Qwiic, STEMMA QT, and standard microcontrollers. Configuration stored in EEPROM allows for defining address and overload thresholds. The sensor offers three voltage measurement ranges (120 V - default, 240 V, 480 V RMS) and the ability to detect overvoltages. Built-in protection and low conduction resistance ensure safe and accurate measurements. Pololu 5410
The ACS37800KMACTR-030B3-I2C Power Monitor is an advanced measurement board based on Allegro Microsystems’ IC, designed to monitor voltage, current, power, and other parameters in both AC and DC systems. The device enables bidirectional current measurement from −30 A to +30 A and voltage measurement up to 480 VRMS (±980 V peak). With galvanic isolation on the measurement path and secondary isolation on the I²C interface, the module ensures high measurement accuracy and user safety.
The sensor provides RMS and instantaneous readings, automatically detects zero crossings, and calculates active, reactive, and apparent power as well as the power factor. With a 1 kHz bandwidth, it is suitable for a wide range of energy and industrial applications. The integrated Hall-effect current sensor offers an isolated current path, low conduction resistance (0.85 mΩ), and high common-mode noise immunity. The board includes a network of sense resistors optimized for 120 VAC, 240 VAC, and 480 VAC operation, allowing adaptation to various applications.

The module communicates via I²C, accessible through JST SH 4-pin connectors (compatible with Qwiic and STEMMA QT) or standard 2.54 mm pins. Configuration is stored in EEPROM, allowing customization of device address and detection thresholds. The default I²C address is 0x60. Logic is powered from 3 V to 5.5 V, while the integrated isolated DC-DC converter supplies the sensor with 3.3 V.
The ACS37800 sensor measures current flowing from the IP+ to IP− terminals, marked with a +i arrow indicating positive current direction. Voltage is measured between IP+ and V− points on the left side of the board, with positive readings corresponding to higher voltage on IP+. All left-side through-holes are electrically connected, allowing connection of power to internal points and load to external points.

The board has two surface-mount jumpers that configure one of three voltage measurement ranges for the ACS37800 sensor. These ranges are optimized for 120 V, 240 V, and 480 VAC RMS. Each range allows overvoltage detection, supporting transient voltages ~40% above nominal peak voltage. This enables measurement up to twice the nominal RMS before sensor saturation, increasing measurement safety and accuracy. By default, the jumpers are open, allowing measurements up to 120 VRMS.
The module also features an EN input to disable logic power for energy savings. Multiple connection options are provided: large 4 mm holes (up to 10 AWG or ring terminals), screw terminals with 9.5–12 mm pitch, and smaller 2.54 mm and 5.08 mm pads for pin headers. The board includes isolation slots to increase creepage distance, making it versatile for mounting and ideal for energy, industrial, and laboratory measurement applications.
