Description
A small, easy-to-use ToF (Time of flight) distance sensor with a range of up to 5 m. It uses a class 1 VCSEL IR laser, SPAD and a TDC converter. It allows for excellent measurement performance in both dark and sunny places. It supports 3x3, 4x4 and 3x6 output and an extra-wide, dynamically adjustable field of view with the ability to detect multiple objects. The minimum measuring distance is 1 cm. The sensor offers two configurable GPIO outputs that can be used to trigger a measurement, enable the sensor or as general purpose inputs and outputs. The TMF8821 is factory calibrated, but if mounted behind plastic or glass, the sensor can be recalibrated. The module is powered with the voltage of 3.3 V and communicates via the I2C interface.
