The GP2Y0A41SK0F sensor from Sharp enables distance measurement in the range of 4 to 30 cm based on the detection of reflected infrared light. The output signal is an analog voltage dependent on the object’s distance, allowing direct connection to a microcontroller’s ADC input. The system operates within a supply voltage range of 4.5 V to 5.5 V and is suitable for use in obstacle detection systems, mobile robotics, interactive devices, and automation. The sensor includes a built-in IR transmitter and receiver, as well as a distance-dependent voltage converter.
