The GP2Y0A41SK0F sensor performs precise distance measurement in the range of 4–30 cm with an analog output signal adapted for operation with microcontrollers. It is used in robotics projects, obstacle avoidance systems, and automation devices detecting the presence of objects.
The GP2Y0A41SK0F sensor from Sharp enables distance measurement in the range of 4 to 30 cm based on the detection of reflected infrared light. The output signal is an analog voltage dependent on the object’s distance, allowing direct connection to a microcontroller’s ADC input. The system operates within a supply voltage range of 4.5 V to 5.5 V and is suitable for use in obstacle detection systems, mobile robotics, interactive devices, and automation. The sensor includes a built-in IR transmitter and receiver, as well as a distance-dependent voltage converter.
