The TMF8801 is a small, easy-to-use ToF (Time of flight) distance sensor with a range of up to 2.5 m. It uses IR VCSEL class 1, which allows for excellent measurement performance in both dark and sunny places. The minimum measuring distance is 2 cm. The sensor offers two configurable GPIO outputs that can be used to trigger a measurement, enable the sensor or as general purpose inputs and outputs. The TMF8801 is factory calibrated but if mounted behind plastic or glass it is possible to recalibrate the sensor. The module is powered with the voltage of 3.3 V and communicates via the I2C interface. Full documentation with examples of use is available on the product page.
