Description
A module with a distance and gesture sensor that allows the detection of objects in two axes and the detection of simple gestures. Developed in collaboration with XYZ Interactive, the sensor uses GestureSense® technology to recognize an object-to-sensor distance of up to approximately 30 cm (referred to as the "Z" axis) and locate an object on the side of the sensor over a span of approximately 15 cm, known as the "X" axis. The module performs the measurement by emitting infrared (IR) light beams through two LEDs on both sides of the object, detection by the receiver in the middle of the sensor and data interpretation by the built-in microcontroller. The user can use the I2C or UART interface for communication. Full documentation with examples of use is available on the product page.
