Benewake TF02-Pro is a laser distance sensor with a measuring range from 0.1 m to 40 m. It uses a wavelength of 850 nm and the Time of Flight (ToF) technology, which means that the sensor periodically transmits a beam of infrared rays that reflect away from the subject. It then measures the time of flight from the phase difference and obtains the range between the device and the detected object.
The sensor offers a supply voltage range from 5 to 12 V, a housing ensuring the IP65 protection level and UART and I2C communication interfaces. The sensor can work with a very high resolution of 1 cm and an accuracy of ± 5 cm and the frequency of measurements up to 1000 Hz. In addition, it is characterized by a very narrow measuring angle FoV 3 °, which allows for precise point measurements.
TF02 is used in robotics as a measurement sensor in drones and mobile robots, but also in industry, e.g. as a sensor on a production line.
