Laser distance sensor based on the ToF (Time of Flight) measurement technique. The ToF method measures the time from the emission of an infrared laser pulse to its return to the detector. The module is based on the VL53L1X sensor, which allows you to make accurate measurements regardless of the color or reflection of light from the object. It has a range of up to 4 m. It can be powered with a voltage ranging from 3.3 to 6 V, and communication with the sensor is via the I2C interface. The module can be used in robotics or devices that require precise measurements. The sensor can detect simple gestures. Documentation with a library and examples in Python is available in the GitHub repository.
