People recognition module with sensor from Useful Sensors Inc. It contains a camera and a chip with programmed algorithms that detect faces and return information via a simple I2C interface. It is designed to be used as an input to a larger system and treated like any other sensor, with power and information provided via the interface I2C. The user also has a separate interrupt pin that is used to signal whether any person has been detected. It combines an image sensor and a small microcontroller in one board. It is a small, energy-saving and economical hardware module that can detect people nearby and return information about their number, location in relation to the device, and performs face recognition. This makes it easy to create designs that wake up your device when people approach, follow their faces, mute your microphone when no one is there, and even recognize different people. The sensor was designed as a simple way to build smart devices without the need to implement artificial intelligence algorithms.
