The RC5 code transmitter, instead of a typical multi-button keyboard, is controlled in series (in I2C standard) or in parallel. A specific code is emitted when its six-bit code is given. The 'heart' of the system is the popular AT89C2051 microprocessor. It implements all functions related to sending a modulated infrared beam. The PCF8574 expander is responsible for the I2C bus. The remote control can work in two modes: with fixed or variable RC5 address. The entire module has a small size and can be soldered to a larger base plate.
