Description
Expansion module (output expander) dedicated to the Circuit Playground Express board. It is equipped with a number of connectors that provide useful interfaces in robotics, including the control of DC motors, modeling servos, IO outputs, analog inputs, Darlington outputs and a NeoPixel LED driver and an audio output for connecting speakers with a power of up to 3 W. The module is connected to the evaluation board by means of screw spacers to the edge connector and communicates via the I2C interface. Power is supplied to the circuit via the DC 5V connector. - 2 x bidirectional brushed DC motor control, each with 1A current limit, with 8-bit PWM speed control
- 4 x high-current "Darlington" 500mA outputs (for solenoid valves, relays, large LEDs or stepper motor)
- 4 x capacitive touch sensors
- 8 x signal pins, digital inputs / outputs or analog inputs
- 1 x NeoPixel controller with 5V voltage level converter
- 1 x Class D speaker output, 4-8 ohms, 3 W audio amplifier
