The energy harvesting module based on the LTC3588 chip, which is a complete energy harvesting solution for sources such as piezoelectric, solar or magnetic transducers. SparkFun BOB-09946
Energy acquisition module based on the LTC3588 system from Linear Technologies. The LTC3588 is a chip that integrates a low-loss rectifier bridge with a high-efficiency DC / DC converter to form a complete energy storage solution optimized for high output impedance sources such as piezoelectric, solar or magnetic transducers.
Very Low Quiescent Current (UVLO) undervoltage lockout mode with a wide hysteresis window allows charge to accumulate on the input capacitor until the buck converter is able to efficiently transfer some of the stored charge to the output. During the regulation, the system goes into the sleep mode, in which both input and output quiescent currents are at a minimum level. The buck converter turns on and off as needed to maintain proper adjustment.
The system is able to configure the output voltage (1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3.3 V and 3.6 V) with the use of jumpers D1 and D0. The module is pre-configured for a voltage of 3.3 V.
