Drone Control Transmitters

Radio transmitters allow the operator to send commands to a receiver installed on the drone. Individual models differ in supported communication systems, frequency bands, number of channels, control layout, as well as configuration and telemetry capabilities.

ELRS Receivers

Receivers installed onboard the drone receive signals from a compatible transmitter and transfer control data to the flight controller. The range includes ExpressLRS (ELRS) receivers operating in different frequency bands, designed for FPV platforms and other remote-control systems.

Diversity and True Diversity Receivers

Receivers using Diversity or True Diversity solutions can utilize more than one antenna or receiving path to maintain a stable radio link under changing conditions. Individual designs differ in how the receiving system is implemented, so the communication protocol, operating frequency, antenna type, and transmitter compatibility should be considered when selecting a receiver.

Control, Telemetry and Ground Stations

In addition to basic control commands, the control system can transmit telemetry data related to drone operation, depending on the capabilities of the receiver, transmitter, and other onboard electronics. The category may also include more advanced ground stations integrating control, configuration, and data or video monitoring functions for unmanned systems.

Selecting a Transmitter and Receiver

When configuring a control system, key factors include communication protocol compatibility, supported frequency band, and transmitter-receiver compatibility. The number of channels, receiver connection to the flight controller, telemetry support, and requirements of the specific drone platform should also be considered.
