Pololu 5346 designed for controlling bipolar stepper motors in electronics and robotics projects requiring precise position and speed control. The board is based on the A5984 chip from Allegro MicroSystems and operates with 3.3 V or 5 V logic, enabling direct connection to common microcontrollers.

Control is performed via the STEP/DIR interface, with supported modes including full step, half step and microstepping up to 1/16, allowing smooth motor operation. Current limiting is implemented in hardware and depends on the logic supply voltage (VDD). With 5 V logic, the driver supports continuous current up to approximately 1 A per phase, while at 3.3 V logic up to approximately 660 mA. The design does not include a potentiometer or any element for manual current adjustment.
Motor power is supplied from a separate voltage source, independent of the logic supply. For higher load conditions, proper heat dissipation should be ensured.
