FeatherWing module with a 2.9" e-paper display featuring a 296×128 px resolution, supporting 4 grayscale levels and based on the SSD1680 driver, designed for Feather-standard boards. Adafruit 4777
The Adafruit 4777 is designed for integrating an e-paper display with development boards in the Feather standard. The module uses eInk technology, allowing static images to remain visible without continuous power, while offering high contrast and excellent readability in daylight. This solution is suitable for low-power projects such as information displays, user interfaces, portable terminals, and battery-powered devices.

The integrated 2.9" display with a 296×128 px resolution supports four grayscale levels: white, light gray, dark gray, and black. The SSD1680 controller enables fast refresh times of approximately 1 second in monochrome mode and about 3 seconds in grayscale mode, providing a significant advantage over tri-color e-paper displays. The module includes external SRAM memory used as a frame buffer, reducing the RAM usage of the host microcontroller and enabling operation even with devices that have limited memory resources.
The board also features a microSD card slot for storing images and data to be displayed. The FeatherWing communicates via the SPI interface and uses several control lines, while additionally providing three optional user buttons. The module is delivered fully assembled, with socket headers that allow direct connection of a Feather board without soldering. Software support is available through Arduino and CircuitPython libraries.
Short product demonstration video.
Note!
The Feather board is not included in the kit and is required to operate and control the display. This product includes only the FeatherWing module and requires a compatible Feather base board for proper operation.
