The humidity sensor is specially designed to work with the Kitronik Greenhouse Kit for BBC micro:bit. It enables monitoring of soil moisture—when the probe is placed in the soil, any presence of water or moisture causes conductivity, generating a voltage. The Mini Prong is powered by 3V and is designed to connect to the micro:bit using crocodile clip leads. Once the Mini Prong sensor is connected, the micro:bit can be programmed using any micro:bit editor, such as Microsoft MakeCode.
