IR slot-type photo interrupter module designed for object detection, pulse counting, and incremental encoder applications in automation and robotics projects. The module supports 3.3 V and 5 V platforms, including Arduino, Raspberry Pi Pico, and STM32, while the integrated Schmitt trigger ensures a stable digital output signal. The design includes a 6 mm slot width, a right-angle JST XH-2.5 3-pin connector, and an LED indicating the sensor operating status.
IR slot-type photo interrupter module designed for object detection, pulse counting, and incremental encoder applications in electronics, automation, and robotics projects. The optical sensing element operates in the infrared spectrum, which improves resistance to visible light interference and external disturbances affecting measurement stability. A 6 mm slot allows cooperation with encoder discs, markers, and moving mechanical components passing between the infrared transmitter and receiver. The sensor design supports integration with control systems, positioning mechanisms, and robotic applications requiring precise optical detection and repeatable measurements in motion control systems.
The circuit includes an integrated Schmitt trigger responsible for generating a stable digital output signal without unwanted switching. When the infrared beam is interrupted, the digital output changes to a low state (GND), while the onboard LED indicates the current operating status of the sensor. Compatibility with both 3.3 V and 5 V logic levels allows direct cooperation with platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi Pico, STM32, and other microcontroller systems. The PCB features a right-angle JST XH-2.5 3-pin connector and 3 mm mounting holes for convenient installation in electronic and mechanical assemblies.
