RS-485 transceiver module based on the SN65176BDR, designed for bidirectional data transmission between a microcontroller and an RS-485 bus. It supports data rates up to 20Mbps and communication distances up to 1200m, while the onboard 120Ω termination resistor can be enabled using the JP2 jumper. Supply voltage is 5V. Soldered 333068
The device RS-485 Transceiver breakout by Soldered uses the SN65176BDR transceiver for communication between a microcontroller and an RS-485 bus. The IC converts logic signals from the microcontroller into differential bus signals and performs conversion in the opposite direction. Differential transmission increases resistance to interference, allowing the board to be used in automation, control systems, multi-node networks, and industrial installations.
The transceiver supports bidirectional data transmission at rates up to 20Mbps. The manufacturer specifies a communication distance of up to 1200m. Actual data rate and achievable distance depend on factors including cable length and parameters, bus topology, and operating conditions. The A and B lines carry the differential RS-485 signal.
On the microcontroller side, the board provides a D driver data input and an R receiver data output. The DE and NRE lines control the driver and receiver. An onboard 120Ω termination resistor can be enabled using the JP2 jumper when the board is installed at the end of an RS-485 bus.
The module requires a 5V supply, with the manufacturer specifying current consumption from 120µA to 500µA. Board dimensions are 38 × 22mm. The SN65176BDR meets the requirements of ANSI TIA/EIA-422-B and TIA/EIA-485-A and incorporates protection features including current limiting and thermal shutdown.
RS-232 transceiver module based on the MAX232E, designed for bidirectional conversion between TTL/CMOS logic levels and RS-232 signals. It provides two transmit and two receive channels, allowing simultaneous data transmission and reception. The supply voltage range specified in the documentation is 4.5–5.5V. Soldered 333067
