LoRaWan and LongFi network monitor that allows you to determine the number of hotspots to extend the actual network coverage. It helps to build a map of global reach by tracking and mapping individual access points.
It uses the Wio Terminal kit that connects to the network, starts sending messages regularly, and meanwhile the built-in GPS gets the device's position in real time. The message is acknowledged by the network to retrieve the information required for field testing. Each of the messages is processed by a dedicated application that processes advanced information from field tests, which is then sent back to the device. When the GPS signal quality is correct, the location is reported to mappers and tracking services.
Wio Terminal is an ATSAMD51 based development kit with wireless connectivity supported by Realtek RTL8720DN. The processor runs at 120 MHz (up to 200 MHz) and has 4 MB of Flash memory. The Realtek RTL8720DN chip supports both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, providing communication for IoT projects. Wio Terminal is equipped with a 2.4-inch LCD screen, built-in IMU (LIS3DHTR), microphone, buzzer, microSD card slot, light sensor and infrared transmitter (IR 940nm). In addition, it also has two multifunctional Grove ports and a 40-pin GPIO connector compatible with the Raspberry Pi.
The kit includes the Wio Terminal LoRaWan Chassis. It is an expansion module for the Wio Terminal development board, which is equipped with LoRa-E5 and Quectel L76-LB modules ensuring communication in LoRaWan and GNSS networks. In combination with the Wio Terminal board, it allows the construction of compact IoT projects.
