USB-CAN converter - Makerbase MKS CANable V2.0 S is designed for communication, diagnostics and analysis of devices using the CAN bus. The system is based on the STM32G431C8T6 microcontroller with an Arm Cortex-M4 core operating at up to 170 MHz and supports CAN 2.0A, CAN 2.0B and CAN FD standards. Connection to a computer is provided via USB, while the CAN bus is available through GND, CANH and CANL terminals.

Support for candleLight and slcan firmware enables compatibility with tools using SocketCAN, among others. For classic CAN, the maximum transmission rate is 1 Mb/s, while CAN FD supports test rates of up to 2 Mb/s and 5 Mb/s. The system also features a 120 Ω bus termination resistor that can be enabled or disabled using a switch located on the enclosure.
The MKS CANable V2.0 S version features an enclosure with LEDs indicating power, status and data transmission activity. The interface can work with computers and embedded platforms, including Raspberry Pi, Raspberry Pi Zero, ODROID and BeagleBone. Applications include CAN bus diagnostics, commissioning CAN and CAN FD devices, and communication with 3D printer electronics, motor controllers and automation systems.
