An H-bridge capable of controlling one DC motor in both directions or two unidirectional motors at voltages from 4.5 to 44 V and continuous currents up to 1.3 A. The module offers three operating modes (PH/EN, IN/IN, half-bridge), built-in current limiting and measurement, and protection against overheating, overload, undervoltage, and reverse polarity. Its compact design, flexible logic power supply (1.8–5.5 V), and simple control make it ideal for robotics, automation, and hobby projects. Pololu 4971
The Pololu TB67H453FNG module is a compact H-bridge board that enables bidirectional control of a single DC motor or two unidirectional motors. The driver supports motor supply voltages in the range of 4.5 V to 44 V and provides a continuous output current of up to 1.3 A, with a default current limit set to around 2 A. Thanks to the built-in current sensing and regulation, it allows safe motor control without additional sensors, while integrated protections safeguard the system against overcurrent, overheating, and undervoltage. Additionally, the board includes reverse power connection protection, improving its resilience to wiring mistakes.

The TB67H453 driver requires a motor power supply in the range of 4.5 V – 44 V, provided to the VIN pin, which is protected against reverse polarity. The VM pin outputs the voltage after the protection circuitry and can power other system elements, ensuring safe operation in case of wiring errors. To exit the default sleep mode, a voltage must be applied to the SLEEP pin, which also influences the current limit threshold. This voltage can be shared with the microcontroller or dynamically controlled from one of its outputs, enabling convenient sleep mode management. The chip offers three control modes: PH/EN (phase–enable), PWM (IN/IN), and independent half-bridge mode, selectable via the PMODE pin. In the popular PH/EN mode, the PH pin defines the motor rotation direction, while a PWM signal is applied to the EN pin to control speed. This method is especially recommended as it requires only one PWM signal and ensures smooth and linear speed control in drive/brake mode.
Standard 2.54 mm mounting holes allow convenient use of pin headers, wires, or direct soldering onto a PCB. Thanks to its compact size, the module can be easily integrated into hobby and professional projects such as mobile robots, drive mechanisms, or automation systems. Flexible logic supply in the range of 1.8 V to 5.5 V ensures compatibility with a wide variety of microcontrollers, including popular platforms like Arduino, STM32, and Raspberry Pi. This simple-to-use and reliable solution enables quick motor control integration into any electronic project, guaranteeing high performance and safe operation.
