Development board based on the W55RP20 microcontroller combines a dual-core RP2040 processor with the W5500 hardware Ethernet controller featuring a built-in TCP/IP stack. The board maintains Raspberry Pi Pico compatibility while adding a 10/100 Mb/s Ethernet interface with an RJ45 connector and optional Power over Ethernet capability using the WIZPoE-P1 module. The board is intended for IoT applications, industrial automation, network communication systems, and embedded devices requiring reliable wired Ethernet connectivity. WIZnet W55RP20-EVB-Pico
The W55RP20-EVB-Pico development board is designed for projects requiring wired Ethernet communication and the capabilities of the W55RP20 microcontroller. The chip integrates a dual-core RP2040 microcontroller running at up to 133 MHz with the W5500 Ethernet controller featuring a hardware TCP/IP stack. The board maintains mechanical compatibility and most of the pinout of the Raspberry Pi Pico, allowing the use of existing accessories and software libraries. The board is equipped with a USB Type-C connector, an RJ45 Ethernet connector with an integrated transformer, and dual 20-pin GPIO headers.
The W5500 controller processes the TCP/IP stack in hardware, reducing the workload of the microcontroller during network communication. It supports TCP, UDP, ICMP, IPv4, ARP, IGMP, and PPPoE protocols, provides eight independent hardware sockets, and includes 32 kB of internal memory dedicated to TX/RX packet buffers. The integrated 10/100 Mb/s Ethernet interface supports Auto Negotiation as well as Full and Half Duplex operating modes.

The board can be expanded with the optional dedicated WIZPoE-P1 PoE module, enabling power delivery through the Ethernet cable in accordance with the IEEE 802.3af standard.

The board layout remains compatible with Raspberry Pi Pico, making it easy to migrate existing projects and use compatible expansion boards. The microcontroller provides 22 multifunction GPIO pins, UART, I²C, SPI, PIO, PWM interfaces, and a 12-bit ADC. The board supports development using C/C++, Arduino IDE, PlatformIO, MicroPython, and CircuitPython, enabling the creation of network applications, IoT devices, HTTP servers, MQTT clients, and cloud-connected systems.
