The book is a monograph devoted to a wide range of scientific, technical and legal issues that are related to commercial and business applications of modern cryptographic systems. It presents selected issues related to intellectual property protection, protection of secret digital data, authorization systems, methods of acceleration of cryptographic calculations, virtual payment device generation systems (such as Bitcoin) as well as threats resulting from sharing sensitive data on the Internet. The monograph was created on the basis of revised and expanded articles published at the 1st Scientific and Industrial Conference of KBBS 2014 (Cryptology and Business - Applied Security), which took place on 13-14 February 2014 in Zielona Góra.
